BEFORE YOU ARRIVE:

1.It is best not to eat a big meal within two hours of a float. Also, make sure you have not had any caffeine for at least two hours before you float.

2.If you have major cuts or wounds, are not feeling well or for women if it is during your menstrual cycle, you should not float.

3.We recommend that you not shave for at least 4-6 hours before your float as the highly salted water will sting. If you have any recent cuts or scratches, we provide gel to cover those up. If you forget about a cut, the stinging will last for several minutes, however, the salt water will be very helpful in healing.

4.Please do not put on perfume, strong lotions, or heavy hair products before coming to float. Even with showering, these items are difficult to remove from your skin and will effect the salt water for you and others.

5.The only thing you need to do is make an appointment. Towels, shampoo, soap, and earplugs are provided for you. You will arrive into your own personal spa suite with shower and dressing area, so no need to leave once you arrive. There is an area outside of the spa suite if you would like to dry your hair and put on makeup.

BEFORE YOU FLOAT:

1.Choose from a selection of soothing or meditational music, or guided imagery.

2.Take the time to use the restroom before you enter the spa. You do not want to interrupt your float. The discharging of any bodily fluids into the floatation spa will require special cleaning, which will be your financial responsibility.

3.Shower, shampoo, and rinse thoroughly before entering the spa. A squeaky clean shower should take 5-8 minutes. Please use the wash cloth provided.

4.You don’t need to dry off, just drip dry before stepping into the spa. Your head should be at the end by the door.

5.Earplugs are provided it’s totally up to you.

DURING YOUR FLOAT:

Once you enter the floatation spa, you will lie down with you head at the door end. There are two buttons on the tub, one is the spa light, the other is for music. You will also notice that there is an intercom to let us know if we need to adjust the music level or answer any questions you may have.

When you begin your float, your hands will be wet, please keep them away from your eyes and face. We provide a small towel so you can dry them in the event you need to touch your face.

As for positions, some people like to put their hands behind their heads, just on the side, crossed on their chest . . . whatever feels comfortable to you. Neck pillows are also available.

When we let you know your float has ended and before exiting the spa, you will want to remove as much salt water from your body as possible with your hands.

The biggest challenge, the first few times you float, is to not over analyze your experience . . . just relax and enjoy.

AFTER YOUR FLOAT:

Please let us know how it went . . . did you enjoy it? Were you too warm or too cold? Do not be discouraged if it was difficult for you to relax or if it seemed the time was too long. Most people can usually comfortably settle in within 10 - 20 minutes.
